
UIF Players of the Week Announced for Week 3

The United Indoor Football League (UIF) announced this week that Travis Salter, James Walton, and Joe Bevis have been named players of the week for their play in week 3 of the UIF season.
Travis Salter, the Billings Outlaws linebacker, has been honored with the Special Teams Player of the Week. Salter dominated the game with his team-high 11.5 tackles against the Sioux City Bandits insuring the Outlaws' 72-38 victory. Two of his 11.5 tackles came from his play on special teams. In addition, he had 5 tackles for loss and 2 sacks (one was a safety when he sacked the Sioux City QB, Chad Kapanui in the end zone).
Joe Bevis, linebacker of the River City Rage, was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Bevis had an impressive 14 tackles in Rage's victory against the Omaha Beef.
James Walton, wide receiver for the Bloomington Exteme, was named Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Colorado Ice. Walton caught 9 passes for 104 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in the Extemes' 59-38 win against the ICE.
The Billings Outlaws play the Sioux City Bandits, in Sioux City, Friday, March 28, 2008. The game will be on the big screen at the Sports Page located on Broadwater. Next week, the Outlaws will face the Sioux Falls Storm. Kick off is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
