UHL names officials for 2007 UHL All-Star Classic

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Friday the game officials for the 2007 UHL All-Star Classic. Neil Christopher will serve as the referee while Peter Cichy and Geoff Rutherford will be the linesmen.
Christopher, 44, resides in Guelph, Ontario. He is currently officiating in his 11th UHL season. He worked as a linesman in his first four UHL seasons before becoming a referee. Christopher has also officiated in the Ontario Hockey Association (OHA) for 15 years and has served as a supervisor for officials in the Ontario Minor Hockey Association during the past two seasons.
Cichy, 34, is in his 11th season as a UHL linesman. He has worked both regular season and Colonial Cup Playoff games. He also currently works in the American Hockey League (AHL). Cichy lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and in addition to being a linesman, he has worked with the same company for 15 years as a custom cabinet maker.
Rutherford, 30, is working in his 8th UHL season as a linesman. He has worked in the playoffs in each of the previous seven UHL seasons and has been a linesman in the Colonial Cup Finals during each of the past five seasons. Rutherford resides in Lasalle, Ontario where he is a school teacher.
"These individuals are well-deserving of this honor," stated Brad Jones, UHL VP of Hockey Operations. "Each is an outstanding representative of the UHL as they conduct themselves in a professional manner and display the highest standards of officiating. The All-Star Classic is a showcase of the best in the UHL and these gentlemen are among the best."
The 2007 UHL All-Star Classic is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17th at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. UHL All-Stars will compete in a Skills Competition beginning at 7:00 PM and the game is set for a 7:40 PM puck drop.
