UHL announces three new hires

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Wednesday three new additions to its front office staff: Teppei Sakuma, Director of Business Operations; Marissa Sloan, Director of Communications and Media Relations; and Kristin Casten, Administrative Assistant to the President/CEO.

As the Director of Business Operations, Teppei Sakuma will work closely with Huntleigh McGehee to handle all workers compensation claims for the league. Sakuma's sales and marketing expertise is most notably recognized for his work for Tubular Steel, Inc. He also served as a supervisor of officials in the first round of the UHL playoffs this past spring.

The 37 year old Texan, who has idolized Gordie Howe since his days in the old WHA, currently resides in Creve Couer, Missouri with his four children.

As the Director of Communications and Media Relations, Marissa Sloan will work directly with each team's public relations director to coordinate and manage league media and community relations programs. Her previous sports marketing experience includes interning for the National Basketball League (NBL) of Australia and most recently, serving as the Vice President of Business Operations for the UHL's Motor City Mechanics.

Sloan is a recent graduate of Indiana University Kelley School of Business and resides in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri.

Kristin Casten, 22, begins her first season with the United Hockey League as the Administrative Assistant to the President/CEO. She is responsible for all administrative duties in the league office.

Prior to joining the UHL, Casten spent the last two years as a teller/CSR at First Bank in Lake St. Louis, Missouri.

Casten who resides in O'Fallon, Missouri is continuing her education at St. Charles Community College and is looking to receive her degree in Business.
