SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Five different players scored goals and netminder Adam Murray (Anchorage, Alaska) made 48 saves, as the U.S. National Under-18 Team defeated Union College, 5-4, here tonight at Messa Rink.

Team USA found itself in an 1-0 hole after Union's Brian Yanovitch's shot from the left faceoff circle beat Murray glove side just 1:37 into the opening period. Mario Valery-Trabucco doubled the Dutchmen's lead with a power-play goal at 5:44. Jeremy Morin (Auburn, N.Y.) got Team USA on the board after he streaked into the offensive zone and fired a wrist shot over the glove of netminder Corey Milan. Murray made 19 saves in the period to keep Team USA within a goal after 20 minutes of play.

Chris Brown (Flower Mound, Texas) picked up Jerry D'Amigo's (Binghamton, N.Y.) rebound and slid the puck into the net to tie the game just 2:20 into the second stanza. Valery-Trabucco notched his second goal to give Union a 3-2 advantage at 12:55. Kenny Ryan (Franklin Village, Mich.) found a streaking John Henrion (Holden, Mass.) who fired a slap shot from the right faceoff circle that sailed over Milan's left shoulder. Just 1:29 later, Kyle Palmieri (Montvale, N.J.) gave Team USA its first lead after he stole the puck from a Union defender at the U.S. blue line, skated up ice and flicked a backhand shot past Milan. Yanovitch tallied at 17:43 to make it a 4-4 game heading into the final period.

Just 1:23 into the final frame, Drew Shore (Denver, Colo.) followed Ryan's rebound and slid the puck between Milan's pads to put the U.S. ahead for good. Murray stopped all 19 shots he saw in the period to preserve the 5-4 victory.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team heads to Troy, N.Y., tomorrow for a 5 p.m. (ET) tilt with ECAC Hockey's RPI.
