U.S. National Team News Release

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Ryan Bourque (Boxford, Mass.) had two assists and Jerry D'Amigo (Binghamton, N.Y.) netted the game-winning goal as the U.S. National Under-18 Team downed the Traverse City North Stars, 4-3, here tonight.

Chris Brown (Flower Mound, Texas) opened the scoring 4:43 into the game when he collected Kevin Lynch's (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) faceoff win and slid the puck on his backhand under netminder C.J. Motte. Traverse City answered back with a pair of tallies, the first from Jarrod LaBelle at 10:39 and the second coming from Eric McLintock on the power play at 16:08.

With just 27 seconds remaining in the second period, A.J. Treais (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) tied the score up for Team USA. After Bourque flew into the zone on the left side, he sent the puck to Treais who roofed a backhanded shot into the upper right corner to make it 2-2. Netminder Adam Murray (Anchorage, Alaska) turned aside all nine shots he saw in the period.

In the final stanza, after Brendan Rempel's (Willington, Conn.) head-man pass sprung Bourque down the right wing. Bourque then sent a centering pass to Jeremy Morin (Auburn, N.Y.) who snapped it past a diving Motte from between the faceoff circles to make it 3-2 at 10:45. Bo Jacobs tallied for Traverse City at 13:02 to knot the game. At 14:36, D'Amigo made it 4-3 after he converted on Drew Shore's (Denver, Colo.) centering pass. Despite a furious effort by the North Stars to even the score, Team USA would not allow another goal, earning the 4-3 win.

Murray closed out the game with 27 saves to earn his 16th victory of the season.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team returns to action on Saturday against the North Stars at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube at 7 p.m. ET.

NOTES: Team USA out shot Traverse City by a 43-30 margin ... A.J. Treais's goal marked his team-leading 39th point of the year.
