
U.S. Military All-Stars to Play Sliders July 11th

The Springfield Sliders will take on the U.S. Military All-Stars in an exhibition game at Robin Roberts Stadium on Thursday, July 11th at 6:35pm as part of the military's Red, White and Blue Tour Across America.
The U.S. Military All-Stars are the only barnstorming team in the world featuring players from all branches of the Armed Forces and First Responders competing in baseball. Established in Pensecola, FL at the request of President George H.W. Bush they have earned the reputation as the "Globetrotters of Baseball" playing in 45 states and 12 countries.
The evening will feature special pre-game ceremonies including special singers and musicians performing pre-game as well as a flag presentation of a flag that flew over the World Trade Center on 9/11.
The U.S. Military All-Stars will also be conducting a jersey raffle after the game and fans can support the Tour and the troops by purchasing a selection of souvenirs and merchandise. Fans will also be able to get autographs and pictures with the All-Stars during post-game activities.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, seniors and military vets.

The Springfield Sliders are members of the Prospect League with teams in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Their 60 game schedule begins in late May and runs into August. All Sliders home games are played at Robin Roberts Stadium located at 1415 N Grand Ave E in Springfield, IL.
