U.S. Army, Storm form partnership

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (Dec. 30, 2008) - The Chicago Storm professional indoor soccer team and the U.S. Army formed a partnership for the 2008-2009 Xtreme Soccer League season, and the Storm's next home match is a Military Appreciation Day. This special occasion for the men and women of the armed forces takes place during the Storm's 1 p.m. Jan. 4, 2009, game against the New Jersey Ironmen at the Sears Centre Arena.

The Military Appreciation Day includes a recorded National Anthem sung by soldiers in Iraq, military brass ensemble performing at halftime, a first ball kick from military members, and the honoring of co-captains from each military branch.

The Chicago Storm organization is playing its fifth season of professional indoor soccer. Chicago's next Xtreme Soccer League match takes place against Milwaukee at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at the U.S. Cellular Arena in Milwaukee.
