
Tyson Strachan Re-Signs With St. Louis

St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has re-signed defenseman Tyson Strachan to a one-year contract.
Strachan, 25, played in eight games for the Blues last season, recording two assists and four penalty minutes. In addition, the 6-2, 215-pound defenseman skated in 65 games with Peoria, collecting 26 points (five goals, 21 assists) along with 75 penalty minutes.
After playing the first 25 games of his rookie season, 2007-08, with the Las Vegas Wranglers (ECHL), Strachan earned a spot on the Rivermen roster on a try-out contract and appeared in 34 games with Peoria that season. He was signed to a two-way contract with the Blues prior to the 2008-09 season.
Overall in his Rivermen career, Strachan has logged 128 games and collected eight goals, 26 assists, and 203 penalty minutes. The Melfort, Saskatchewan native was originally drafted by Carolina in the fifth round, 137th overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
