Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes are pleased to announce the signing of Halifax native Tyler Scott for the upcoming 2019-20 NBL Canada season.
The 6'3" guard, who played high school basketball with the Halifax West Warriors, was a two-time CIS All-Canadian while playing with the UPEI Panthers. For the past two seasons, Scott has played professional basketball with the Island Storm, appearing in 63 regular season games.
"We are pleased to have Tyler, a local product of the Halifax club, high school and Basketball Nova Scotia programs with us for the coming season," says head coach Mike Leslie. "He fully represents the pathway that now exists for local hoop kids who can play minor, provincial, high school, Canadian university, and now pro basketball in their own community where they first started playing the game.
"Tyler has had two very good developmental years playing in our league, learning the pro game and further developing his skills. We believe he has the potential to have a very strong breakout season and are excited to have him on our training camp roster for the upcoming season," says Leslie.
