Texas Tycoons News Release

Dallas, TX. Charles Key, co-owner of the ABA Texas Tycoons professional basketball team, has formed a motion picture production company that specializes in producing films for various niche markets. The business model is to develop modestly budgeted films on themes that have broad appeal within certain market segments. A cornerstone of the business model is to create a film that has strong legs in DVD sales, record sales, promotional opportunities including product placements and re purposed additional distribution channels. These channels include cable, DTH, and various third screen options in the US and internationally.

Currently, Key Films has five projects slated for production including the first called Cut It Up distributed by Polychrome/Warner Home Video that began in January. The second film, SwapMeet, will begin production in mid-April and will be distributed by Fox Entertainment. In addition to the five films, Key Films has purchased the rights to two films, To Kill a Killer and Lockout both of which will be distributed with Warner Home Video. The company is also negotiating with The Weinstein Company (www.weinsteinco.com) for three additional films and has production and distribution agreements with Sony Pictures (www.sonypictures.com and 20th Century Fox through its subsidiary, Fox Faith Pictures (www.foxfaith.com).

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
