
Texas defeats Houston, breaks franchise high mark for victories

Dallas, TX - The Texas Tycoons defeated the Houston Takers 162-115 on Thursday night at Dallas's Mountain View College. Seven (7) players finished in double digits for Texas and the 162 points helps the league's top scoring team become the first team this season to surpass the 3000 point barrior. Needing 140 points coming into the game, Texas (132ppg) had quarters of 38, 33, 43, and 48 to currently stand on the season with 3022 points scored. With the victory the Tycoons (18-5) also set a new franchise high for victories in a season. The 04/05 Tycoons finished the year with a record of 17-9, standing as the water mark until this season.
Jerome Rogers (5'10''-G-81, college: N.Texas) led Texas in scoring with 26 points connecting on 6 of 8 from the three point line. Benny West (6'3''-G-82, agency: ProSportsCareers, college: Howard Payne) had 22, Donnie Beacham (6'5''-F-81, college: Texas Arlington) 20 with 8 rebounds, Mario Kinsey (6'2''-G-82, college: Texas Coll.) 18, Josh Gonner (6'2''-G-82, college: S.Carolina) 15, Randall Williams (6'8''-C-82, college: Tarleton St.) and Bryce May (6'7''-F-82, college: Mc Neese St.) finished with 14 a piece.
Houston, which is 4th in league in scoring themselves had 5 players in double figures led by Tim Simon 25 and Michael LeBlanc (6'8''-G/F-78, college: Houston Baptist) 22. Damien Tasby, Randy Dwellington, and Rod Nealy (6'6''-F-80, agency: Gross Zeev ISA, college: Houston Baptist) finished with 16, 15, and 14 respectively.
