Texas Tycoons News Release
Fort Worth, TX. Steve Tucker, Head Coach of the ABA Fort Worth Tycoons professional basketball team today announced his coaching staff. According to Tucker, "I was approached by many qualified coaches during the past 3 months. I really appreciate everyone's interest in working with me on our staff. I've taken my time and I feel we've put together an excellent coaching staff that will truly represent our team well in every way."
The Assistant Coaching Staff will be led by long time NCAA Division I Head Coach and Assistant Coach, Coleman Crawford. Coach Crawford served as Head Coach at Akron University, and has served in assistant coaching roles at Akron, Tulsa, Florida State and SMU. Also on the staff are former college and pro player Chuck Webb and Jalie Mitchell, a former standout player at North Texas State where she was the all time leading scorer - and is the third woman to be hired on a men's pro basketball coaching staff in history, the second within the ABA.
Also helping as Senior Assistant Coaches will be Richard Bacon, who won two Texas High School State Championships while at Lincoln High School in Dallas prior to being as Assistant Coach at TCU and Gary White, former Asst Coach at the University of Texas-Arlington and U of Alabama.
The Tycoons wil be going to Veteran's Training Camp the third week of October to prepare for the upcoming season that starts in November. For more information, call Coach Tucker at 8174Tycoon or email to ftworth_txprobasketball@yahoo.com, log onto www.ftworthtycoon.com or www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
