Rock River Raptors News Release

Rockford, Ill. - The Rock River Raptors of the United Indoor Football (UIF) League have announced today that two of their players, WR Lawrence Bady and DE Ricky Miller, have been invited to a tryout with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).

Lawrence Bady of Boise State has risen to become one of the top receivers in the UIF and one of QB Ben Sankey's favorite targets. Bady leads the team in receiving yards with 886 on the season and also leads the league in total receptions with 77. Bady has also caught nine touchdown passes this season.

Ricky Miller only played in one game with the Raptors, but he was able to make a big impact during that game. Miller recorded two sacks in an overtime loss against the Bloomington Extreme for a loss of 15 yards. Miller played football for both Fresno State and University of Arkansas at Monticello.

This year, the Raptors have already been successful in sending one of their players to the next level. Defensive lineman Nick Zeck had a successful tryout with the Georgia Force of the AFL and signed with the team in May.

This weekend, the Raptors will be traveling down I-39 to take on the Bloomington Extreme. The game can be heard on ESPN 1380 and 93.7 The Big Easy or online at http://www.espn1380.com. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CDT. Fans can also sign up to take toe Raptors' Fan Bus to the game by calling the Raptor front office at 815-965-7000.
