Two Pioneers Named PGCBL Rising Stars

The Elmira Pioneers are pleased to announce that two of their players were named to the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League team of Rising Stars. The squad is made up of players who completed their freshman/sophomore years in school.

Ty Yesensky (Old Dominion University) hit .308, second best on the team that lead the PGCBL in scoring. Adam Davis (St. John's University) had an outstanding season finishing 3-1 with a 2.67 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 33.2 innings. Opposing batters only hit .219 against the hard throwing right hander.

In 2011, the Pioneers set an Elmira collegiate attendance record with 36,925. We are already looking ahead to next year when we plan on more Fireworks shows and even more Lucky Fan giveaways.
