Two Ice Players Named Players of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS-The Indiana Ice announced today that forward Daniil Tarasov and defenseman Ryan Obuchowski have been have been named the USHL Players of the Week for their respective positions.

Tarasov adds the weekly award to his already impressive mantle after compiling a six points (5G, A) in three contests over the weekend. The Moscow, Russia native matched last year's goal total with his 37th goal of the season on Friday before eclipsing the mark with two-goal performances in back-to-back wins in Youngstown and Ann Arbor.

Through 54 contests this season, Tarasov is second in the league in goals (41) and points (76) and leads the USHL in game-winning goals (8). He is currently riding a seven-game point streak while averaging two points per game during the same period.

Obuchowski contributed five points (G, 4A) and a +2 plus-minus rating in three weekend contests for the Ice. He tallied a goal and an assist against Youngstown on Saturday before logging a three-point night against Team USA on Sunday.

The second-year defenseman leads all USHL blueliners in assists (29) and is tied for second in points (36).
