Two Home Runs Are Not Enough
Elmira's second stop on their three game road trip took them to Shuttleworth Park to take on the Amsterdam Mohawks. PGCBL Pitcher of the Week Jordan Carter took the ball for the Pioneers but, was roughed up by the Mohawks, yielding three runs in the first and another in the fourth before being replaced in the fifth inning by Adam Davis.
The Pios got solo homeruns from Justin Lamborn and Logan Uxa. Lamborn also chipped in with a run scoring double. But it was not enough as the Mohawks cruised to a 5-3 victory, extending the Pioneers slide to three games.
The Pioneers travel to Cooperstown tonight to complete their three game roadtrip.
