Two Former Phantoms Named to Collegiate All-Rookie Team

DETROIT (Wednesday, March 12, 2008) - College Hockey America announced Tuesday afternoon that former Mahoning Valley Phantoms Nathan Longpre and Denny Urban were named to the CHA All-Rookie team.

Longpre, a freshman forward for the Robert Morris University Colonials (near Pittsburgh), collected 23 points this season to rank second among rookie scorers in the CHA. The 19-year-old from Peterborough, Ontario was 12th overall in league scoring, and fifth on the team.

While with the Phantoms during the 2006-2007 season, Longpre totaled 27 goals and 38 assists to help lead the team to the Robertson Cup Championship game and the best record in the North American Hockey League - at 47-14-1.

In his freshman season as a defenseman for the Colonials, Denny Urban is third among rookie scorers in the league with 21 points. His 21 points is also good for third among all defensemen in the league, and tops on the team.

A Phantoms' defenseman for the 2005-2006 campaign, the 19-year-old Pittsburgh native totaled 30 points and 88 penalty minutes while anchoring the blue line.

So far this season, the Robert Morris Colonials are 15-14-4 and will face Niagara in the CHA semifinals this Saturday in Lewiston, N.Y.

The Mahoning Valley Phantoms are owned by the B.J. Alan Company - Phantom Fireworks, located in Youngstown, Ohio.
