TWISTERS HEAD COACH: CHRIS SIEGFRIED

Siegfried spent the 2007 season as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Brigade of the Arena Football League. The Brigade became the fourth team in the 21 year history of the AFL to improve seven games from the previous season. Kansas City made the playoffs for the first time in its history and receiver Charles Frederick earned AFL Co-Rookie of the Year.

Siegfried is one of the top coaches in the history of arenafootball2 with a career record of 57-26, earning top coaching honors in 2006 as the coach of the expansion Spokane Shock, and winning the '06 ArenaCup championship. He left the Shock as the af2 leader in coaching wins and is second all-time with six postseason wins.

The first af2 player to be a head coach in the league tasted success right away when named the head coach of Cape Fear before the 2002 season. Siegfried finished his three year tenure with Cape Fear with a record of 38-16, two division titles, and three playoff appearances. During his coaching tenure with Cape Fear, EJ Burt earned af2 Lineman of the Year when he set the all-time single season sack record with 27.5 sacks in 2002 and former University of Arkansas receiver Matt Berstein earned af2 Offensive Player of the Year honors in 2004.

The Cape Fear franchise moved to Albany, GA, after the 2004 season and became the South Georgia Wildcats where Siegfried sustained his only losing record in his head coaching career. South Georgia led the af2 in passing offense upon Siegfried's dismissal just 10 games into the season.

Siegfried played college football at Division II Millersville University of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in business administration. He was a three year starter and led the team in kick off return average.

The West Hazleton High School graduate has also appeared on television and in movies. He was a contender on the television show "American Gladiators Orlando Live" and appeared in two movies; "The Waterboy" as a stuntman performing football related stunts and "Radio" as an assistant football coach.

Siegfried is married to wife Tammi and the couple has two children; Kody and Baylee.

Twisters Coaching Staff:

Kelly Snell - Defensive Coordinator

Snell is having as much success as a coach as he did as a player. The former af2 Defensive Player of the Year was Co-defensive Coordinator for the past two seasons with Rio Grande Valley. The Dorados finished the '07 season with the league's best record at 15-1 behind the league's best defense. Rio Grande Valley led the af2 in scoring defense, sacks, and turnover margin.

MacKenzie High School came calling in '05 and Snell became the defensive coordinator after spending the previous two seasons as the head coach of Newaygo High School. He earned his first coaching job with Ferris State University as an assistant and strength and conditioning coach.

Snell's playing days were highlighted with individual awards and team championships throughout his career. He won a Grey Cup championship with the B. C. Lions in 2000 and won the Arena Bowl championship the following season with Grand Rapids. He set the af2 record for interceptions in a season with 15 in 2003 and earned the Defensive Player of the Year honors.

As a three sports star in college, Snell was a first team All-American as a sophomore and a second team selection the very next year.

Rob Green - Secondary/Special Teams Coach

Green is making the transition from player to coach as he enters his first year with the Twisters. He spent the 2007 season with Mahoning Valley before a serious knee injury ended his season.

Overall, Green played four seasons in the af2 highlighted by the 2005 season with Louisville. He led the team in tackles (62.5) and pass breakups (20) while adding three interceptions to a team that advanced all the way to the ArenaCup title game. He also spent time with Albany ('04) and Cincinnati ('03). Green has totaled 197.5 total tackles, 12 interceptions, 59 pass break ups, six fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, and has two return touchdowns on defense.

Green played his college football at the University of Massachusetts and played his high school football at Freeport High School in Long Island, New York. He was a high school teammate of current New York Jets lineman D'Brickshaw Ferguson and Houston Texan linebacker Morlon Greenwood. Green is nicknamed 3D; which stands for determination, discipline and destiny.

Jim Beverly-Line Coach

Beverly brings 23 years of experience as a player and coach to the Twisters' coaching staff. He was on staff at Charleston Southern University as the running backs coach in '07. Before his time at CSU, Beverly spent time as the Assistant Head Coach of the Amarillo Dusters. He spent time as the line coach for the original Laredo franchise in 2004. He has gained coaching experience with offensive/defensive lines, fullbacks, running backs, linebackers, special teams and strength conditioning.

Beverly's playing career has included stints in the NFL, NFL Europe, AFL and the af2. He set a then NFL record by benching 225 pounds 44 consecutive times for NFL scouts. He went to training camp with the Carolina Panthers, and played for Frankfurt and Barcelona in NFL Europe. He played for Coach Siegfried at Cape Fear. He also gained experience with the af2's Macon Knights and the AFL's Chicago Rush.

While playing at East Tennessee State at every position on the offensive line, Beverly was a All-American and All-Conference selection. He graduated with his degree in Public Health in 2000 and later returned after his playing days to be a coach. He also received his teaching endorsement in '05 from Texas A&M International University.

Beverly has written his first book, entitled "Trench Warfare". The book outlines drills, techniques and philosophies about playing offensive/defensive line and fullback/linebacker.
