
Twisters acquire former Marshall quarterback Bernard Morris

(North Little Rock, AR) - The Arkansas Twisters have been assigned former Marshall University quarterback Bernard Morris from the af2 league officials. The 6-4, 220lbs quarterback was a three-year starter at Marshall. He red-shirted his freshman year then won the starting job in 2005. In 2006 and 2007 he was team's second leading rusher. In Morris' senior season he completed 253 passes for over 3000 yards. Morris threw 17 touchdowns in 2007 and ran for additional 4 touchdowns. Morris received Pepsi Player of the year in 2007. Morris finished his career as the school's leading quarterback with 41 touchdowns. Morris' duel threat capability is very compatible with the fast pace game in the af2.
Morris graduated from Jones High in Orlando, FL. where he lettered in not only football but baseball and basketball as well. Morris was named best offensive back and best offensive player overall at Jones High School.
Morris was the highest rated undrafted quarterback in the 2008 NFL draft. Morris joins former Florida State quarterback Xavier Lee as the second quarterback assigned to the Twisters the season. The Twisters now have two quarterbacks have great passing and running ability. The quarterbacks are two of the highest rated quarterbacks to ever join the af2.
