Twins finish sweep in Youngsville

Texarkana, USA - By a score of 3-1, the Texarkana Twins (11-5) were able to pull off a sweep in Youngsville in first half of this home-home series against the Acadiana Cane Cutters (4-14). The pitching once again gave a sterling performance, only giving up 1 run to the Cane Cutters. The offense was a little slow out of the gate however but they then proceeded to get a much needed jolt in the 5th Inning.
The Top of the 5th Inning, the inning after Left Fielder Taylor Smith had a Home Run robbed by Cane Cutter Left Fielder Alen Hannie, started with Reese Durand reaching on a fielding error which brought up First Baseman Lee Thomas. And on the first offering Thomas got a hold of one and that ball soared over the Right Field fence for a 2-Run Home Run that gave the Twins the lead for good. Acadiana drove in their one run on the night in the sixth on an error but the Twins immediately brought the lead back to 2 runs with an RBI Infield Single by Second Baseman Ryne Randle. After that the Twins Bullpen locked the game down.
After a fantastic 6 IP performance by Starter Colten Davis, Lefty Michael McElmeel came in and threw 2 scoreless innings while striking out 3 batters in the process. Then in the 9th the Twin turned to Righty Jake Terry who threw a scoreless Inning to get the Twins their 6th win in their last 7 games. The Twins now sit squarely in Second Place in the TCL right behind the Brazos Valley Bombers
The next game for the Twins is tomorrow night against the Acadiana Cane Cutters again this time at home at George Dobson Field and are scheduled to start at the standard 7:05 pm. Tomorrow night's game doubles as both College Night and Thirsty Thursday. This will be the start of a four game homestand for a Twins before going on the road again for two more games..
