Texarkana Twins News Release
Texarkana, TX - The Twins did not have many things go their way tonight as they fell to the Bombers 23-3 in front of a great crowd at George Dobson Field. The team struggled all night long and did not have success in tonight's game.
The Twins fell behind early, with the Bombers scoring in the top of the first, putting the Twins behind early. Starting pitcher for the Twins, Jesse Philp struggled tonight, allowing 7 runs in two innings. The bullpen also could not stop the Bombers tonight, as only Gage Burns was able to keep the visitors off the scoreboard. The Bombers had a pair of big innings that put the game beyond reach, scoring 6 runs in the 2nd inning and 8 runs in the 6th.
One of the few Twins to have success tonight was Hunter Southerland, who was able to get on base during a night when the Twins bats were silent. Southerland went 2-2 with a walk and RBI, being the best player for the Twins tonight. Jalynn Keys also was able to tally a RBI, when he drove in Southerland in the 8th inning.
The Twins return to George Dobson Field tomorrow to finish their two game series against the Bombers. Tickets for these games are available online at texarkanatwins.com.
