Texarkana Twins News Release
Texarkana, TX - The Texarkana Twins returned home to strong fanfare and a return to on field success with a 3-1 victory over the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The Cane Cutters entered the game as the hottest team in the TCL, winning 11 in a row heading into last night's matchup.
Texarkana started off strong, scoring the first run of the game in the third inning to take an early 1-0 lead over Acadiana. The Twins bats were not done, as they tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning to push the lead to 3-0. The Twins continued to have chances to add to their lead, loading the bases in the fifth inning but were kept off the scoreboard by the Cane Cutters bullpen. Acadiana would score one run in the sixth inning to make the score 3-1, but would hold on to the two run lead and win the series opener.
The star of the night was Twins starting pitcher Tyler Jeans. After a series against the Bombers, where the Twins ran into issues in both games after starting off strong on the mound, Jeans was able to be effective his entire outing and limiting one of the hottest lineups in the TCL from scoring.
The Twins remain in Texarkana for three games against the Acadiana Cane Cutters at George Dobson Field with a two game series finishing tonight before the club enjoys an off day.
