Turner Set to Return to the Chicago Blaze

March 4, 2005 - National Women's Basketball League (NWBL)
Chicago Blaze News Release

Naperville, IL - The Chicago Blaze today announced they have signed forward Roslyn Turner (Calument College '01) for the remainder of the season. Turner will replace Trina Van Horn, who went on the injured list on January 30 with a stress fracture. Van Horn was advised that she would be unable to play for the remainder of the season by team doctors. League rules allow a team to replace an injured player after the February 14 signing deadline with a player that is not currently in the WNBA. Turner will be eligible for the 2005 NWBL playoffs.

Turner was instrumental to the success of the inaugural 2002 team that went 16-4. She missed the entire 2003 season due to an injury that she sustained in the off-season and she missed the entire 2004 season as she went back to school to complete her degree.

"We are really glad to have Roslyn back with us, said Blaze General Manager Robert Graham. She brings a level of intensity to the table that this team needs." Turner will be in uniform when the Blaze take on the Dallas Fury tonight at 7:30 PM at Lisle High School.

The NWBL showcases professional women basketball players from across the nation, including players from the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) who choose to stay in the U.S. to play during the off-season. 2005 teams include the Birmingham Power, CHICAGO BLAZE, Colorado Chill, Dallas Fury, Lubbock Hawks, and the San Jose Spiders.
