St. John's IceCaps News Release
How's this for a lopsided hockey trade?
Drop your old cell phone into Recycle My Cell collection boxes at Gate 2 or the Mile One Centre box office during the Saturday, March 16th IceCaps game versus the Hamilton Bulldogs, and your name will be entered to win a game-ready Dean Arsene St. Patrick's Day IceCaps jersey.
All mobile devices that connect to a cellular or paging network, including cell phones, smartphones, external aircards and pagers can be used for the contest. Additionally, headsets, chargers and other accessories are also accepted. Any mobile device - regardless of brand, model and age - will be accepted.
The cell phone recycling promotion is part of Turn Back the Tide, an initiative of the Provincial Government designed to promote understanding of climate change and energy efficiency, and inspire action by all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians. For the remainder of the IceCaps home schedule, there will be in-game events and contests through facebook.com/turnbackthetide. Fans can win IceCaps merchandise such as autographed sticks, jerseys, photos, game tickets and game-ready IceCaps St. Patrick's Day jerseys. Additionally, the IceCaps will promote Turn Back the Tide messages significantly through game night productions, its website and social media channels. Individuals, businesses and communities can take action to reduce their carbon footprints by improving their energy efficiency and reducing their waste. For further information, log on to www.turnbackthetide.ca.
The IceCaps resume their six-game home stand Friday and Saturday against the Syracuse Crunch. Catch all the action with broadcaster Brian Rogers at stjohnsicecaps.com and on 930 AM This Is Newfoundland Labrador, or watch online at ahllive.com. Friday's contest can be seen live on Rogers TV. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. with the pregame show getting underway at 7:00.
