Austin, TX - In the latest Massey Rankings for the Southern Indoor Football League, the Austin Turfcats are ranked third in their inaugural season. The rankings system is available at http://www.mratings.com/.
The computer rankings is ran by Kenneth Massey, he is an sports statistician well-known for his development of a methodology for ranking and rating sports teams in a variety of sports. His ratings have been a part of the Bowl Championship Series since its inception.
Jack Dixon, Turfcats Director of Operations, said, 'It is fun for football fans to have a tool like this to track the progress of your team."
The Turfcats ranked third overall behind the Louisiana Swashbucklers and Acadiana Mudbugs in the poll. The lowest two ranked teams were the Texas Pirates and the Houma Conquerors, both teams have combined for one win this season.
The Turfcats ranked third in power, second in offense and fifth in defense.
The Massey Ratings are designed to measure past performances of teams.
