Turfcats Await Game Reschedule Versus Pirates

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Turfcats are currently working with Southern Indoor Football League officials on rescheduling the game versus the Texas Pirates.
The Turfcats traveled to Houston to play the Texas Pirates as scheduled on Saturday. Upon arrival at Kicks Soccer Zone questions arose concerning the safety of the facility conditions. After discussions with Southern Indoor Football League President Thom Hager, the officiating crew and administrative staff from both teams the decision was made to reschedule the game.
Turfcats Vice-President/General Manager Ronald Oswalt said, "I regret this game was cancelled due to arena issues, we came to play versus the Pirates but our player and staff safety are a core value of this franchise."
Both coaches and the head official originally agreed that the game could have been played with temporary repairs, but Austin management remained adamant that the situation was unacceptable.
"The concerns were valid and we appreciate the concern the Austin management has for their players and I'm confident they'll be accommodating in getting this game played," Hager said. "This is another challenge we've been given, and we're going to once again solve it quickly."
The Turfcats will host the North Texas Crunch on June 6th at the Adfirmative.com field at the Travis County Expo Center. With the Crunch now participating in the SIFL, the Turfcats have two Texas teams to beat to be considered the best indoor football team in Texas.
