Tupman Heading to Mobile, Skelton Down

MOBILE, Ala. (July 6) - Prior to tonight's contest between the Mobile BayBears and Chattanooga Lookouts at Hank Aaron Stadium, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the BayBears have made the following roster moves. C/IF James Skelton has been reassigned to Single-A Visalia. Skelton was batting .182 in 68 games for the BayBears this season. He had 0 home runs and 16 RBI but a team-high 52 walks. C Matt Tupman has been signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks and assigned to Double-A Mobile. Tupman was released by the Kansas City Royals on June 23 after hitting .261 for Triple-A Omaha. Tupman has made one plate appearance in the major leagues and picked up a base hit for the Royals. The BayBears now have 24 active players with 1 on the disabled list.
