Tulsa's Williams named Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Devin Williams of the Tulsa Oilers has been selected as the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for October.

The 22-year-old went 4-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.83 goals-against average and a save percentage of .949 in five appearances during the month.

Williams made at least 33 saves in each of his four starts in October, and posted his first professional shutout on Oct. 28, stopping all 45 shots he faced in a 2-0 win against Allen.

A native of Saginaw, Mich., Williams is tied for the ECHL lead with four wins while ranking third in the league with a 1.83 goals-against average and a .949 save percentage.

Last season, Williams saw action in 17 games at Acadia University where he went 8-4-0 with a 2.80 goals-against average and a save percentage of .896. He had spent the previous five seasons with Erie of the Ontario Hockey League where he appeared in 175 games with an overall record of 106-47-8, nine shutouts, a 3.02 goals-against average and a save percentage of .900.

Runners Up: Pat Nagle, Toledo (4-0-1, 1.94 GAA, .930 save pct.) and Joel Rumpel, Wichita (3-0-0, 1.67 GAA, .950 save pct.)

Also Nominated: Michael Houser (Fort Wayne), Collin Delia (Indy), Ivan Kulbakov (Quad City), Jeff Jakaitis (South Carolina), Kevin Carr (Utah) and Colin Stevens (Wheeling).
