Dansk is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Former Kalamazoo Wings' goaltender Oscar Dansk is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for October.

The leading distributor of game- worn hockey jerseys and "Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL," MeiGray has sold more than 7,500 jerseys since it became "The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL" in 2002-03.

The 23-year-old made his National Hockey League debut with the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 21, stopping 10 of the 11 shots he faced to earn the win in relief against St. Louis. Dansk appeared in four games in October, posting a record of 3-0-0 with a 1.78 goals-against average and a save percentage of .946, which both rank second in the NHL.

A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Dansk appeared in eight games with Kalamazoo during the 2014-15 season, posting a 3.73 goals-against average and a save percentage of .889. He also saw action in 21 games with Springfield of the American Hockey League that season, where he was 7-7-5 with a 3.57 goals-against average and a save percentage of .880.

Dansk spent the previous two seasons with Rogle BK of the Swedish Hockey League where he went a combined 19-38-0 with a 2.81 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.

There have been 629 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including six who have made their debut in 2017-18. The ECHL has had 437 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 373 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 13 seasons for an average of more than 28 per year.
