Tulsa's Rasual Butler Earns 2013 NBA Development League Impact Player of the Year

NEW YORK, April 19, 2012 - Tulsa 66ers forward Rasual Butler was today named the 2013 NBA Development Leagues Impact Player of the Year, as voted on by the NBA D-League's 16 head coaches. Awarded to a player who joined an NBA D-League team's roster after Dec. 6, the Impact Player of the Year award honors an athlete who made the greatest contribution following his in-season acquisition.

A first-year NBA D-League player, Butler joined the 66ers on Jan. 16, when the team held a 9-10 mark. Following his acquisition, the 66ers went 18-13, securing the seventh seed in the 2013 NBA D-League Playoffs. In 31 games with Tulsa, 23 as a starter, Butler averaged 17.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.4 blocks and 32.7 minutes.

A 10-year NBA veteran, Butler has played in 637 career NBA games, averaging 8.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 23.4 points. He most recently played in the NBA for the Toronto Raptors during the 2011-12 season, when he played in 33 games, averaging 3.3 points and 13.7 minutes.

During the first round of the NBA D-League Playoffs, Butler played in three games, averaging 18.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 29.3 minutes as the 66ers defeated the Canton Charge to advance to the second round and face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
