
Tulsa's Daniel Orton Signs with Oklahoma City Thunder

NEW YORK, October 31, 2012 - The Oklahoma City Thunder have signed Tulsa 66ers center Daniel Orton for the first GATORADE Call-Up of the 2012-13 NBA Development League season. Orton, who was claimed by the 66ers as an affiliate player earlier today, joins 87 players with NBA D-League experience currently on NBA rosters.
Orton (6-10, 255, Kentucky) was originally selected in the first round, 29th overall, of the 2010 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. In 16 regular season games (two starts) with the Magic last season, Orton averaged 2.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 11.7 minutes. In four playoff games, Orton scored four points in nine minutes.
A member of the Thunder's 2012 training camp, Orton appeared in one preseason game for the team, scoring 13 points and grabbing three rebounds in 19 minutes. Orton is expected to be available when the team hosts the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday, Nov. 1.
The 2012-13 NBA Development League season tips off on Nov. 23 and officially gets underway on Friday, Nov. 2, when the League conducts its Draft at 7:00 p.m. ET. Fans can log on to nba.com/dleague for live Draft coverage.
