TULSA TALONS HEAD COACH AT A GLANCE:
David Alexander, a 40 year-old native of Broken Arrow, Okla., joins the Talons after serving a year as the Talons General Manager and ten years in the National Football League (NFL). Alexander was drafted as a center in the fifth round of the NFL draft. In the NFL (1987-1996), Alexander spent his first eight years with the Philadelphia Eagles and his last two years with the New York Jets. Alexander started 108 consecutive games and never missed one NFL game. He was honored as New York Times All-Pro in 1991. In his NFL career, Alexander was one of few players who had played all five offensive line positions. A graduate of Broken Arrow High School in Broken Arrow, Okla., Alexander played college football at the University of Tulsa (Tulsa, Okla.). Alexander graduated from TU with a degree in business and was awarded All-Conference in football for two years. Alexander now resides in Tulsa with his wife, Kathy, and three children (Jake, 14, Kyle, 11 and Cassity, 8). As a coach, Alexander has coached eighth grade Jenks football and one year at Broken Arrow High School. Currently, Alexander serves on the board of National Youth Football and is active in several local youth football teams.

BOSSIER-CITY HEAD COACH AT A GLANCE:
Keith Barefield made the jump last season to the professional ranks with the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. His resume includes 19 seasons, ten as head coach, at Evangel (Mo.) University where he built a perennial NAIA powerhouse. The Crusaders were nationally ranked each year of his head coaching tenure and qualified for the playoffs four times from 1993-97. Barefield was named the Heart of America Conference Coach-of-the-Year in 1996 and 1997 and during his time at the Springfield, MO, school, he earned himself the title of winningest coach in the state at any level in the 1990's. His record at Evangel was 66-33-2, the best in school history. He coached 166 all-conference, 48 all-America and 12 all-America Scholar Athletes at Evangel. From Evangel, Barefield moved to the prep ranks at Cornerstone Christian School in San Antonio, TX as the school's varsity coach. Barefield has also taken his coaching career globally as he coached Evangel in the first-ever American football game in the Peoples Republic of China in 1991. He also coached in the 1997 Mid-East Regional All-Stars Bowl Classic and served as the president of the NAIA Football Coaches Association in 1996. A native of Eufaula, AL, Barefield graduated from Evangel in 1978 and was the starting fullback on the Crusader's football team. Barefield is married to the former Lisa Apodaca of San Antonio, TX. The Barefield's have three sons, Brian (19), Billy (18) and Keith Jr. (15) and a daughter Leslie (16).

LAST SERIES MEETING: TULSA 65, BOSSIER CITY 59 (5/8/04) – Tulsa's QB, Michael Wall, completed 21 of 29 passes for 226 yards and 5 TDs for their win against the Battle Wings in front of 3,547 fans at the Tulsa Convention Center in Tulsa, Okla. Tulsa set the pace when OS, Mitch Allner caught a 27-yard pass for the first touchdown of the ballgame. At halftime the Talons were double the Battle Wings (TUL 26, BOS 13). In the third, Bossier held the Talons to one touchdown while OS, Bo Smith, scored two for the Battle Wings. Although they had tried, nothing was able to stop the Talons rhythm. With less than a minute left, the battle for the win was intense as both teams scored twice. QB, Sherard Poteete, completed 15 of 24 passes for 222 yards and 6 touchdowns for the Battle Wings.

DROPBACK: TUL 55, AMR 62 (4/1/05) – Tulsa started off to a rocky start with Amarillo scoring twice before getting on the board at the Cal Farley Coliseum in Amarillo, TX. Dusters QB, Julian Reese, passed for 296 yds with 21 of 31 completions and 5 TDs. His performance earned him Offensive Player of the Week for the league. The Talons stepped their game up with 4 consecutive TDs to take their first lead of the game. Reese hooked up with Craig Fulton Jr. for a 24-yard TD pass with 1.2 seconds remaining to defeat the Talons in the Duster's inaugural af2 contest. Talons QB, Josh Blankenship completed 23 or 32 passes for 342 yds and 7 touchdowns.
