
Tulsa 66ers Host School Day Matinee

TULSA, Okla., April 4, 2006 - The Tulsa 66ers will host a School Day Matinee on Wednesday, April 5 as the 66ers take on the Florida Flame at 11 a.m. at the Expo Square Pavilion.
"We are excited to have the opportunity to provide students with a unique educational opportunity outside of the classroom in the fun and safe environment of a 66ers basketball game," said team president Joe Berry.
Doors will open at 10:00 a.m., and the morning will include several pregame activities highlighted by an appearance by McGruff the Crime Dog presented by the Tulsa Police Department. The game will also include a safety education fair and a fire safety presentation by the Tulsa Fire Department and Firefighter Tom Huffman. In addition, all kids in attendance can enjoy the 66ers' Schoolhouse Jam booklet and a reading goody bag as part of the Tulsa 66ers Read to Achieve program presented by MidFirst Bank and EDC.
The Lady 6ers and Routie the Roadrunner will greet fans as well as participate in a postgame high-five session with the Tulsa 66ers players and fans.
Through a generous donation by Rhodes-Hieronymus, Borden Dairy, Frito-Lay, Bank of Oklahoma, Garrett Law Firm, Holmes Organization, Dr. James Russell, Sunoco, Solomon-Simmons & Associates, Sanctuary Evangelistic Church and Winnercomm, students from Celia Clinton, Emerson, Lanier, Town & Country, St. Pius and Hawthorne Elementary schools will have the opportunity to take part in the festivities.
