
Tucson Falls Again to Memphis 10-3

Tucson, AZ - The Sidewinders fell behind early in a 10-3 defeat at the hands of the Memphis Redbirds Sunday.
Memphis scored four runs in the first inning off Josh Phelps, Cody Haerther, and Jarrett Hoffpauir RBI singles along with a Rico Washington sac fly giving the Redbrids a 4-0 lead.
The Redbirds added one more in the second inning when Colby Rasmus hit a solo shot to left. Memphis extended the lead in the fourth when Nick Stavinoha hit a line drive single to left scoring Brian Barden from third.
Tucson cut the lead by four in the fourth inning when a Wilkin Castillo grounder scored Jamie D'Antona and a Jesus Merchan RBI single, which extended his hitting streak to 15 games. Jamie D'Antona hit a solo homerun in the fifth to make the score 6-3 Memphis. D'Antona's bomb gives him homeruns in back-to-back games against the Redbirds.
The Sidewinders will face the Memphis Cardinals in Tucson starting at 6:30 PM on Monday night. RHP Yusmeiro Petit (0-1, 2.08) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Right-hander Mitchell Boggs (4-1, 3.60) will start for the Cardinals. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:20 a.m.
