TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros dropped a home game, 11-5, to the Orange County Flyers, Sunday night. With the loss the Toros' record stands at 35-31 overall, 18-10 in the second half.
Pete Hartmann, (2-2) got the start for the Toros, where he picked up the loss. The veteran lefty threw five innings where he gave up nine runs, eight earned, on eleven hits.
Brian Daly and Dan Knox appeared out of the bullpen for the Toros. Each picked up two innings of work with Daly giving up two runs, on four hits, while Knox didn't surrender any runs in his outing.
The Toros were outhit 18-9 in the loss, but four Toros did manage multi-hit efforts. Curt Miaso and Jim Rushford led the way as they each went 2-4 and each drove in a pair of RBI.
Andre Marshall put up some power numbers as he went 2-4, hit a double, a homerun, and scored a pair of runs. Dustin Yount also went 2-4, and he hit a double.
The first place Toros, will take tomorrow off then travel to St. George for their final roadtrip of the 2009 regular season. The Toros will face off against the Roadrunners for a three game series, then both teams will return to Tucson to close out the GBL's regular season, at Hi Corbett field.
