
Tryouts for Lady Birds dance team this week

Kearney, NE - Tryouts for the Nebraska Cranes' Lady Birds Dance Squad will be held this week. The Cranes, a member of the USBL (United States Basketball League) professional basketball league are preparing for their second season. The Lady Birds performed during all the team's home games last year and will again in 2006.
An informational meeting will be held Wednesday, February 8 at 7:00 pm at the Kearney Event Center. Actual tryouts will then take place Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 pm, also at the Event Center.
Dancers are not required to attend the Wednesday meeting, but they must be 18 or older and be a high school graduate. There will be a $25 tryout fee.
The Lady Birds will have ten members and will perform at all Cranes home games and will be available for public appearances. For more information, contact Rehannon Pekny at 308/440-8925.
