Florida Tropics SC News Release

LAKELAND, Fla. - Kansas City scored four times in the first half and won their second Major Arena Soccer League game in as many nights Saturday at the RP Funding Center defeating the Florida Tropics, 6-2.

The Comets came in having already clinched second place and a playoff spot by virtue of their 7-6 win in Orlando Friday night, and came out flying with goals 96 seconds apart midway through the first quarter from Ramone Palmer and Ignacio Flores. John Sosa made it 3-0 with 54 seconds left in the first before Bryan Perez closed out the first-half scoring with a goal at the 2:13 mark of the second.

Florida rallied in the third, getting goals from Caio Ruiz and Guilherme, his 16th of the season. He has been out with an injury since Jan. 26, and appeared to re-injure himself in the final quarter. Kansas City rounded out the win with a pair of sixth-attacker goals by Anthony Grant.

The Tropics will close the home portion of their 2018-19 season next Saturday, April 6 when the three-time defending Baltimore Blast visit, and close out the year on the road April 13 to take on the Orlando Seawolves. For more information, visit www.fltropics.com.
