Trio of Knighthawks in All-Star Game

Three members of the World Champion Rochester Knighthawks will play in the 2012 MLL All-Star Game on Saturday, June 30th at FAU Stadium in Palm Beach County, Fla. Stephen Keogh and Joel White will make their Major League Lacrosse All-Star debuts, with Joe Walters earning his fifth selection to the game.

"Playing in the MLL All-Star Game is a unique experience because it brings together the best players in the world on one field," said Walters. "It's hard sometimes playing in the game because I find myself in awe of the awesome plays going on.

"Like any competition, you want to win," added Walters. "But at the end of the day, it's all about putting on a good show."

The game will be televised live on ESPN2 HD at 7:30 p.m. and feature a Young Guns vs. Old School format. Players who joined the league between 2001 and 2008 will compete for the Old School team, while players who joined between 2009 and 2012 will play for the Young Guns.

Walters and Keogh will represent the Hamilton Nationals in the game, but will play on opposite All-Star teams. Walters will play for the Old School team which will challenge the likes of Keogh and White of the Young Guns side. In four games this season, Walters leads the Nationals with 21 points (10+1+10). He has reached milestones in consecutive games, reaching 100 points as a National on June 23 rd and eclipsing the 200 career point plateau on June 16 th .

Keogh takes a four-game point streak into the All-Star Weekend. The Toronto native is third on Hamilton in points with 17 (13+4). This season, he has two four-goal performances and notched a career-high six points (3+3) on June 9 th . The former Syracuse star leads the Nationals with 13 goals.

"It's going to be exciting and I am looking forward to it," said Keogh about the All-Star Game. "I hope we have a good crowd."

White has also appeared in four games, playing defensive midfield for the Rattlers. He extended his goal-scoring streak to two games with a first-quarter goal against the Nationals on Saturday. In 2012, the second-year pro has three goals and three assists, which is tied for fourth among league defensemen. He also has 22 ground balls. The dynamic defenseman is looking forward to playing with and against the best players in the MLL this weekend.

"It's definitely something that is an honor to be a part of," said White. "Being out there with best players in the world is a great opportunity. I have heard it is a lot of fun, well put together and I am really excited."
