Trio loaned to Milwaukee, Boeser activated

Rockford, Ill.- Rockford IceHogs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Steve Martinson announced that defensemen Matt Gens and Corey Hessler and goaltender Michel Robinson were loaned to the IceHogs American Hockey League affiliate Milwaukee Admirals. Also, Martinson announced that defenseman Dan Boeser was activated from the 7-Day Injured Reserve.

For Hessler, the call-up marks his first of the season and he brings the total number of IceHogs' players loaned to the AHL to 11. This is the second career promotion for Hessler who appeared in eight games with the Portland Priates (AHL) during the 2003-04 season. The Hogs d-man will accompany winger Jason Notermann in this month's UHL All-Star game in Missouri.

As for Gens and Robinson, they have both received multiple call-ups to Milwaukee. Robinson has been loaned a total of five time to the Admirals this season. The reigning UHL Goalie of the Year has appeared one game the Ads. Gens, a rookie this season, is on his third loan to Milwaukee.

Gens, who played Friday and Saturday, and Hessler who suited up Saturday for Milwaukee, are expected to remain with the Ads with Robinson for Sunday's game against Toronto at the Bradley Center. With the absence of Gens and Hessler, Boeser will get an opportunity to make his IceHogs debut Sunday afternoon against the Quad City Mallards.

The Hogs and Mallards will drop the puck at 1 p.m. and the game can be heard on the IceHogs broadcasting network including their Flagship Radio Station WNTA-AM 1330, 1380 AM "The Jock" and through the IceHogs Web site, icehogs.com, through the B2 Network beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Next Home Game: Wednesday, Jan. 18 vs. Fort Wayne Komets. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. The Hogs and Komets meet for the second time at the MetroCentre. It's another FlyAway Wednesday with the Chicago-Rockford International Airport, Allegiant Air and WXRX-FM 104.9.
