Tribe announces 2005 schedule

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. --The Indianapolis Indians have announced the 2005 schedule, starting with an eight-day homestand on April 7 against Pawtucket and Ottawa.

The Indians will play a 144-game International League schedule through Labor Day weekend. The Tribe will look to capture the West Division crown against the 2004 Division champion Columbus Clippers, Toledo Mud Hens and the Louisville Bats with 16 games against each of their division rivals - eight at Victory Field and eight on the road. The team's final 11 games of 2005 will be against division foes.

The Indians will play each team in the IL's South Division-Richmond, Norfolk, Charlotte and Durham-a total of 12 times (six at home and six on the road). IL North opponents-Division titlist Buffalo, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Ottawa, Pawtucket and Syracuse-will meet Indianapolis eight times (four at home and four on the road).

Following the regular season, the three division winners and the league's best second-place club will begin two rounds of playoffs to determine the 2005 International League Champion.

Starting times will be determined at a later date.
