Trenton Titans Boast a Successful Start in Bringing Back the Franchise

TRENTON, N.J. - Returning to its roots in the community proved to be an important factor to the successful return of the Trenton Titans Hockey Team as the books close on the 2011-12 season. The Titans averaged 3,013 fans per game representing a 26.1% increase over the previous year despite inheriting a poor schedule that included 9 Wednesday night games. The increase is the largest of any team in the 20-team ECHL and shows the strength and durability of the Titans brand after an absence of five seasons.

In addition to the increase in fans, the Titans partnership sales team boasted a 36 percent increase in corporate sponsorship dollars over last year's numbers. Along with the increase in revenue, the Titans built a number of mutually beneficially partnerships this year with area non-profits and civic organizations providing exposure to their causes at Titan's games in addition to tickets and merchandise. "Our partnerships in the community are second to none," says Rich Lisk, President & CEO of the Titans, "We've recreated a model for partnerships that crosses over the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. It's a model that worked for us in the past and is proving successful again."

As part of the When You Assist, You Score program individuals and corporate partners provided over 3,500 tickets to underserved groups, not only offering them the opportunity to enjoy a game, but also introduce new and diverse fans to hockey in Trenton. This allowed the organization to expand its outreach and philanthropic work at the same time.

Other important ticket benchmarks reported for the 2011/2012 seasons in comparison to last season include the following percentages:

An 8 percent increase in full-season tickets

A 29 percent increase in individual walk-up tickets

A 9.8 percent increase in group tickets
