
Training Camp Roster Reduced by Six Players

Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs announced on Saturday that they have assigned defensemen Jonathan Carlsson and Nick Mattson, and goaltender Jake Hildebrand to their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel. Additionally, they have released forwards Phil Brewer, Ivan Nikolishin, and Tyler Sikura from their Professional Tryout (PTO) agreements.
Rockford now has 21 players on their training camp roster, including 13 forwards, six defensemen, and two goaltenders. After a pair of 4-1 wins in preseason action against Chicago and Milwaukee, Rockford prepares to open up the season next Friday with a 6 p.m. tilt in Cleveland against the Monsters.
Home Opener: Saturday, Oct. 22 vs. Milwaukee at 7 p.m. The IceHogs open their 18th season of professional hockey at the BMO Harris Bank Center with the first home game of the 2016-17 season.
