December 9, 2008 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Portland Lumberjax News Release
PORTLAND, December 9, 2008 - Only two Training Camp weekends separate the Portland LumberJax from the start of the season on Saturday, January 3rd as the Jax host the Minnesota Swarm at 7:30 p.m. at the Rose Garden Arena.
With time growing thin, Head Coach/General Manager Derek Keenan and his staff will devote a bulk of the practice time to special teams this weekend. The Jax will practice from 7-9 a.m. and 3-5 p.m. at Indoor Goals in Beaverton on Saturday, December 13th. .
"This weekend we'll repeat a couple of things we worked on last week and then start working on our special teams," said Keenan.
Rosters are also due to the league office this week, which means Saturday's practice will be the first opportunity for the 2009 LumberJax to practice as one.
"This is a very exciting time as we only have two weekends of practice left," added Keenan. "We still have a lot to cover before the start of the season."
