
Toros Victorious In Yuma, Winning 5-2 On Tuesday

Yuma, AZ-The Tucson Toros took the first game of their three game road series against the Yuma Scorpions 5-2 on Tuesday.
Tucson starter Cibney Bello improved his record to a perfect 4-0 with another stellar outing. Bello pitched into the 8th inning with 7 2/3 innings, allowing only two unearned runs in the first inning. The Scorpions managed just seven baserunners against the righthander and were held scoreless for the final eight innings of the contest.
On the offensive side, the Toros had a balanced attack with each starting position player recording at least one hit. Five different Tucson players scored a run.
Leftfielder Lino Garcia, First Baseman Dustin Yount and Rightfielder Curt Miaso all doubled in the contest, with Second Baseman contributing his third triple of the season. Garcia, Yount and Miaso joined Designated Hitter Jim Rushford with two hits on the night.
Reliever Toby Nordman retired the only batter that he faced to maintain his flawless 0.00 ERA while Brian Daly notched his second save in as many games.
The Toros will face the Scorpions again Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. for the second game of the three game series.
