Toros To Play Exhibition Game In Bisbee
July 30, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Tucson Toros News Release
Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros will head to Bisbee this Sunday where they will play an exhibition game against the Bisbee Copper Kings of the Pacific Southwest Baseball League at historic Warren Ballpark at 4:00 p.m. The Toros will help celebrate the 101st birthday of Warren Ballpark, which is thought by many to be the oldest continuously used baseball venue in the United States.
Warren Ballpark was built in 1909 by the Calumet and Arizona Mining Company as a recreation for the miners and their families, pre-dating the construction of Chicago's Wrigley Field by nearly five years. Live music and other festivities will begin at 1:00 p.m. and will take place until the first pitch. Gates will open at noon.
The Toros are currently in the middle of a 3 game homestand against the Tijuana Cimarrones lasting through Saturday, July 31st. For more information on the Toros call (520) 325-1010 or visit the Toros online at www.tucsontoros.com.
