Toros Take Fifth Straight At Home

TUCSON, AZ - The Tucson Toros defeated the Edmonton Capitals 5-3, Saturday night, improving their second half record to 10-5, 27-26 overall.

Vice Davis, (2-2) got the start for the Toros where he earned the win, giving up three runs on six hits. Davis also fanned three Capitals as he worked into the seventh inning, before giving way to Cibney Bello who finished the seventh and also worked the eighth.

Reid Price threw the ninth, earning his seventh save of the 2009 campaign, where he struck out two of the four batters faced.

Junior Spivey provided the power for the Toros as he went 3-4, scored two runs, drove in three RBI, including a two run bomb in the fifth inning.

Skip Adams, Ryan Priddy and Mayabanex Santana also went for extra bases as Priddy and Santana hit doubles, while Adams went 1-4, with a triple, in the win.

The two teams will play the final game of the three game series tomorrow night, at Hi Corbett field, with a 7:00 pm start, gates open at 6:00 pm.
