
Toros Lose Heartbreaker

The Tucson Toros (1-3) lost their third straight decision Sunday night, dropping the decision 8-4 to the Chico Outlaws at Hi Corbett Field. The crowd of 4,173 for "Dollar Dog Sunday" saw a hard fought game, that unfortunately slipped away from the Toros in the latter innings.
Toros starting pitcher Toby Nordman made his impressive professional debut. He threw 6 strong innings, scattering 8 hits and allowing 3 runs only 1 of which was earned, and earned the no decision.
Chico DH Gabriel Riley provided the power for Chico, going 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored and an RBI. Chico LF Truan Mehl added a 3-RBI triple in the top of the ninth to break open the game.
The Toros announced two roster moves before the game. Starting pitcher Blake Eager was released, and P Mark Rosen was added to the roster. Rosen (0-1) faced 5 batters in 1 inning allowing 1 ER via 1 hit.
The Toros next game comes at home against the Orange County Flyers on Fireworks Friday, May 29th. This will be the opening game of a 3 game set.
