Toros Finish Road Trip with a 1-2 Loss at OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY - Rio Grande Valley FC (8-8-5) finished their road trip with a 1-2 loss at OKC Energy FC (6-7-8) on Sunday afternoon. The loss extends the Toros winless streak to five games.

OKC opened the scoreboard after Villyan Bijev sent a cross inside the box allowing Jaime Chavez to finish a left footed shot to the bottom left corner in the 26th minute, 0-1. Five minutes later, Christian Sorto sent a pass to Elvis Amoh inside the box. Amoh was able to send the ball to the back of the net, 1-1.

Arun Basuljevic grabbed the lead for the Energy in the 78th minute after sending a shot to the bottom left corner, 1-2.

In the 20th minute Rodrigo Lopez sent the ball inside the box, connecting with Arturo Diz Pe's head sending a header over the crossbar. Five minutes later Tyler Deric was tested by the home team after Seyi Adekoya sent a header, hitting the woodwork.

Juan Carlos Azocar had a dangerous opportunity in the 58th minute when he sent a right footed shot but missed. In the 73rd minute, Amoh had another dangerous shot but missed the attempt.

Amoh totaled three shots, one on goal and one key pass. His goal marked the seventh goal scored, now leading RGV FC. Both Erik Pimentel and James Murphy totaled two key passes each.

Diz Pe totaled four clearances, two blocks and one interception. Deric in his return totaled one save.
