Toros Close California Trip against OC Blues FC

Rio Grande Valley FC Toros News Release
Edinburg, Texas- The Rio Grande Valley FC Toros (12,7,9) will complete a two game trip in California this Saturday when the Toros face Orange County Blues FC (11,13,4). Rio Grande Valley will seek to break their back-to-back losing streak. The ball will start rolling at 7:30p.m. CT.
Rio Grande Valley kept possession of the ball throughout the first half against LA Galaxy II in their midweek match. The first half was full of chances for the Toros to find the back of the net. Toros' Dzenan Catic found the ball inside the box but his shot went well wide. Eric Bird had an opportunistic run for the RGV. He dribbled past four defenders but was not able to get his shot past Clement Diop, goalkeeper for Los Dos. Los Angeles found their winning goal in the second half. In the 61st minute, Ariel Lassiter scored for Los Dos. His shot from outside the box went past the Toros goalkeeper, Devin Perales.
Orange County will want to repeat with the success they had in their past game on Friday, September 9th against Real Monarchs SLC. The Blues won that game 2-0. The result helped RGV clinch a playoff spot. Tevin Caesar scored his eight goal of the season in the 64th minute. His shot took a slight deflection from a SLC defender before finding the back of the net. The Blues secured the 2-0 win in the 81st minute. Max Rauhofer scored the goal off a Mats Bjurman assist.
The Toros return home next week to face in-state rival San Antonio FC for the last game of the season before playoffs. The match is set for Saturday, September 24 and will kick off at 7:30p.m. The game will take place at the Practice Fields at H-E-B Park.
