Toronto Rock News Release

TORONTO - The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club have announced that former Colorado Mammoth and Chicago Shamrox coach, Jamie Batley will take over the role of Rock head coach.

Glenn Clark, Jim Veltman and Terry Bullen have been relieved of their coaching positions within the organization effective immediately. Veltman will remain with the Toronto Rock as an advisor.

"Our ownership and management believe that our team has the ability to contend for a Championship and trust Jamie and his group will move the team forward in this direction" said Director of Lacrosse Operations, Mike Kloepfer.

Batley totaled a regular season record of 26-13 with the Colorado Mammoth from 2003-2005 and led the team to three consecutive playoff berths, including two regular season division titles. He was named head coach and GM of the Chicago Shamrox in June 2006 before the franchise's first NLL season appearance in 2007.

Among his NLL coaching achievements, Batley has been the head coach of the MSL Peterborough Lakers since 2003 and coached the U.S Box Lacrosse Team in 2003 leading that team to a bronze medal at the World Championships that year.

Joining the coaching staff alongside Batley will be assistant coach's Jim Milligan and Bob Keast, who also coach with Batley for the Peterborough Lakers.

The next Rock game is on the road against Rochester Knighthawks on Saturday January 31st at 7:35 p.m.
